Bought from BR in March 1977. It had previously been used as a water carrier with breakdown crane ADW139. During initial restoration completed in 1987 no identity was found and it was given the number 2782. During subsequent repairs in 1997 the true identity was confirmed from the number 2788 stamped on various parts. Dismantling of the tender has started. A new welded tank with dummy rivets has been built and awaits fitting. |
