6960 Raveningham Hall arrived and left Woodham Bros, Barry with a Collett 4000 gallon tender believed to be number 2421 and this was the number carried during preservation until late 2010 early 2011. During the last overhaul the number 2247 was found stamped on brake gear and spring hangers. As a result the tender was renumbered to 2247. However it should be noted that tender 2247 was built with a Collett 3500 gallon tank when new. It maybe that during BR days a replacement tank of 4000 gallon capacity was put on the chassis of 2247 but this is not known for certain. This 4000 gallon tank was itself replaced with a new tank c2007/2008 |
