| Additional Notes |
Originally built with a 1500 gallon tank but capacity later increased to 2000 gallons (It is not known if this was done by altering the existing tank or fitting a new one). This tender was withdrawn from use coupled to GNR Hawthorn 0-4-2 No. 112A in 1904. It was subsequently preserved with GNR Stirling Single 4-4-2 No.1 in 1909 though this type of tender never ran with this class. In 2014 the correct type of tender was finally restored and coupled to No.1 rendering this tender spare. Chassis build date is approximate.Tank not replaced since preservation. Historic information on this tender is taken from the RCTS Locomotives of the Great Northern Railway Volumes 1 and 2 |
