| Additional Notes |
Purchased by the GCR 567 Locomotive Group in 2011 from the previous owner who had bought it for preservation about 20 years previously. Built originally for the Railway Operating Department (ROD) during World War One for use with their standard 2-8-0 based on the GCR Robinson 8K class. Later passed to the LMS (either directly from the War Department or via the LNWR) who converted it to a sludge carrier. It will be rebuilt with a 3080 gallon shaped tank to run with the new build GCR class 2 (LNER class D7) 4-4-0 that is being planned at present. It is highly likely that this tender was never fitted with a water scoop. |
