This tender arrived at Woodham Bros, Barry attached to GWR Hall class no 4965. Based on Western Region disposal records it has been identified as no.4084. It was bought for preservation with GWR Modified Hall no. 7903 and ran with this loco as 4084. The owners of 7903 replaced the tank on 4084 but subsequently this tank was removed and the chassis was sold to 7029 Clun Castle Limited. Another new tank was fitted (the date is approximate) and have used the number 4081. The number 4084 has continued to be used with the present tender coupled to 7903 (qv). |
