After being withdrawn as a tender the tank was removed and it was converted to a snowplough. Purchased for preservation and snowplough body removed at an unknown date. W B Yeadon in LNER Locomotives Appendix 2 lists seven GCR tenders converted to snowploughs c1957/58 and numbered 986-992, these were all 4000 gallon tenders except one which was a 3250 gallon tender, they were withdrawn from BR service around late 1980s/early 1990s. It is assumed this chassis was one of these seven. It was known to still be in existence c2008 but it was subsequently scrapped at an unknown date after this.
