| Additional Notes |
Built by the LMS and originally fitted with a Fowler 3500 gallon tank. Later taken into departmental service at Longsight depot as internal user no 024304. Purchased in the early 1980's by the owner of a SR class 2-6-0 for use with this loco. A change of plan resulted in the tender being resold in the late 1990s to the owner of WD Austerity 0-6-0ST (Hunslet 2890 of 1943). A new tank was fitted to the tender frames in the early 2000s. This tank was in the style of a Caledonian tender so that 2890, now with saddle tank and bunker removed, could run as the character Douglas from the Thomas the Tank Engine books. |
