| Additional Notes |
Chassis came from Duport Ltd, Briton Ferry steel works where it had been used as an ingot carrier. The original identity is unknown. New tank fitted in preservation. Most of the tank was built in 1979 in situ on the chassis. However it was not completed until circa 1986 when the tank was removed and sent to an outside contractor for completion before final fitting. When originally restored the tender was fitted with a scoop but this was removed circa 2023. The number carried is actually that of the tender 92240 was coupled to when built. However this was a BR1G type tender not a BR1C. |
