Notes | Previously owned by Vintage Trains and acquired from BR who had used it as a water carrier with the Tyseley breakdown crane. The frame has no wheels or axleboxes. Research by staff at Tyseley suggests it was last coupled to GWR Hall no 7929 and could be either no 2715 or 2894. The tank was scrapped around the end of 1995 and blue paint was found on the tank. 2715 carried BR blue livery from June 1949-August 1952 while 2894 was never painted blue so 2715 is more likely to be its identity.
It is intended to restore the tender with a Collett 3500 gallon tank for eventual use with 6880 GWR Grange class 4-6-0 but until this is completed 6880 will run with tender Collett 4000 gallon tender no 2935 (q.v.) |
