Notes | The original number of this tender is unknown and the owner has given it the next tender number that would have been used for a Collett 4000 gallon tender with riveted tank if any more had been built. This tender was purchased from departmental use by, it is thought, the group who owned SR West Country class no. 34007 and was later resold to the owner of GWR 2884 class 2-8-0 no.3814. The owner has two tenders for 3814. The other tender is a Churchward 3500 gallon tender. Restoration included new tank baffles, tank top around the filler, rear of the coal space and most of the right hand tank side. Restoration is complete though it is still awaiting final painting in September 20232. It was initially be used with new build GWR Grange class 4-6-0 no. 6880 when this loco was completed. However an announcement on the Facebook page 'Restoration of Gwr3814' on 1/12/2023 said this agreement had been cancelled. |
