Notes | Purchased from BR by Alan Pegler in 1966, modified to carry 6000 gallons of water and used as an additional water carrier for LNER A3 no. 4472 (BR 60103). Later sold to present owner and entire tank replaced. The new tank incorporates a centre rather than side corridor and has a fibreglass roof. External profile matches that of the 5000 gallon corridor tender with the exception of the loss of the coal space and changes at the front end. 98999 is the tender's current TOPS number for working on the National Rail network. The tender is based at Crewe for use with LNER A4 class no. 60007 and LNER A2 class no. 60532. |
