Notes | 5631 (which had a low front) is the number of the first tender attached 4771 Green Arrow when it was built, it was later swapped for 5701 (which had a high front). After restoration at Doncaster 4771 Green Arrow emerged with a low front tender. W B Yeadon states it cannot be 5631 as this tender was seen still in traffic with V2 class number 60818 after 4771 Green Arrow was restored. A letter in the NRM archive from W B Yeadon says that it is not known if tender 5701 was rebuilt with a low front and renumbered 5631 or an existing low front tender was used and renumbered 5631 . |
