Notes | The tank was replaced during the most recent overhaul which was completed in 2024. The new tank which is of riveted construction like the original was built by Locomotive Services at Crewe. The pictures show the tender with the original tank. It is intended that this loco will also use 5000 gallon 1928 Corridor Type no 5332 as an additional water carrier in conjunction with tender 724.
As at March 2023 the original tank is stored at Peak Rail's Rowley site and is listed in a separate entry in the Tender Register as LNER 724 5000 gallon High Sided Non Corridor Type (Tank only) |
